I love Chicken Soup for the Soul for a million reasons. One, and not the most important one, but maybe the most obvious to some of you–I write for their books. I love Chicken Soup for the Soul stories because they inspire and encourage so many people, and I’m grateful to be a part of such a positive series of books.

My story on adopting senior dogs is in this one!

Also, Chicken Soup for the Soul produces a premium pet food that is healthy and nutritious. A portion of all proceeds from the sale of Chicken Soup for the Soul pet food goes to Chicken Soup for the Soul’s Fill-a-Bowl… Feed-a Soul™ program.

And third, Chicken Soup for the Soul is dedicated to donating food to pets in need. Last month they donated nearly three tons of Chicken Soup for the Soul pet food to help feed animals in need in communities near Andrews Air Force Base, Prince George’s County, Maryland. The food was then distributed to shelters and food banks in the area, and will provide approximately 24,000 meals to animals in need.

“Chicken Soup for the Soul’s Fill A Bowl… Feed A Soul™ program was created to help feed pets in need nationwide,” said Ed Uebele, SVP Sales and Marketing for Chicken Soup for the Soul Pet Food. “We are so proud to work with those at Andrews Air Force Base who not only identified the need, but helped to organize the donation of our pet food to these incredible organizations. We believe that every pet should enjoy the benefits of premium nutrition. Healthy pets are happy pets and more readily adoptable.”

“During these trying times we not only want to help those pets waiting to be adopted, but also assist those families that may be struggling to make ends meet,” says Jeanne Blandford, Senior Director of Marketing for Chicken Soup for the Soul Pet Food. “Families need to stay together to support and comfort one another. That is what families do. And since pets are family members and are such a huge support system, we all need to do our part. A family should never have to surrender their pet because they cannot afford their food.”

I think this is a lot to get in a pet food. Excellent quality, community service….and a good book to go along with it.
