Pet Fit Challenge

Does your pet have a few extra pounds? Now is the perfect time to help Fido or Fluffy get fit and healthy! According to the Association for Pet Obesity Prevention, 53% of adult dogs and 55% of cats in the US are obese or overweight. September 24th kicks off the official Pet Fit Challenge; a great opportunity for pet parents to step up to the plate and make a positive health change for their pet. This four-legged fun fitness challenge will end on October 7th, just in time for Pet Obesity Day! 

I’m proud to partner up to help sponsor this event. The two-week challenge will include daily fitness and health tips from experts and vets, giveaways, prizes, and a chance for you to share your fitness goals.  During the challenge, post photos on social media sharing ways you get fit with Fido or Fluffy. Use hashtag #fitpetchallenge to show support and spread the word to other pet parents.
On Thursday, September 24th, a kick off event in New York City will take place to launch this national challenge. The Salty Paw’s Pet Boutique & Groom Spa will host a free event from 7:00-9:00pm at their facility in Seaport, NY which will benefit Social Tees Animal Rescue. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask the Vet, check out adoptable dogs, join a raffle, and take a 20-minute K9 Fit Club demo class. I’ll be giving away a 2 copies of my book, The Dieting with my Dog Guide to Weight Loss too!

The Pet Fit Challenge is a fun way to encourage pet owners to spread pet fitness health to others, while bringing awareness to Pet Obesity Day. It’s a win-win for all who join the challenge!
